Don’t Buy What I Was |
A quote that caught my eye this week, was all about not allowing your past define you. And it struck a chord. It made me think of all the mistakes I have made and how I have grown every time. The way I have been able to tuck them in my memory back, and continue to push on.
So while we all need to be comfortable with who we are and where we are heading, we allow ourselves to be immersed in today and the NOW, are others as forgiving? Do they see who we are now….or who we are going to be?
My initial thoughts were ” Who Cares” and then I expanded on that and thought “Who Really Cares” The Law of Intuition dictates that great leaders have a feel or an instinct on doing the right thing, yet our businesses are designed around “past performance dictating future results”. If we are to go along with that thinking, while we change, improve and grow, our past could potentially dictate the opportunities that are presented by others who have the “power”.
So again, I say “who cares”. Great Leaders have Intuition. If they cannot see the passion and impact that others have done, the investment in themselves and their ongoing evolution, then they really do not deserve to have quality people reporting to them.
Look for those great leaders, the ones that can feel your passion, who can feel your energy, who can see the investment you have made. We are entitled to make mistakes, after all we all have. How you learn from those mistakes and prosper is the ultimate key.
So in a nutshell, we all need to say “Don’t Buy What I Was” look at “Who I Am NOW” and more importantly, share my vision on “Who I Am Going to Be”
